Allenspark, Co. was established in 1918 and is on Colorado's oldest scenic byway. The 55 mile Peak-to-Peak Scenic Byway is particularly popular during the fall when aspen trees turn golden under crisp blue mountian skies. Allenspark at one time was a hot spot of ski jumping. Between the years 1922 and 1940, skiers came for tournaments held in Allenspark. The town got it's name from early settler Alonzo Allen who homesteaded in 1864.
