Do you like watching the Thunderbirds flyover for the Air Force Academy’s Graduation? Have trouble finding a place to watch them that has a great view and is safe? Look no more! The Western Museum of Mining is honored to be the Academy’s neighbor…and lucky too! Here is why: The Mining Museum is the perfect place to watch the amazing aerial acrobatics of the U.S. Air Force Thunderbirds. Bring a picnic lunch, or get something at a food truck, and enjoy your meal by our spring-fed ponds and flowering meadow as you experience the mighty Thunderbirds soar over you! Come early, set up your family picnic, and enjoy the show! More information can be found online at Questions? Please call the museum at 719-488-0880 or email
