The mission of Pikes Peak Young Composers Inc. is to encourage young people, K-12, to compose music. The organization will provide education, professional evaluation, performance, and other relevant opportunities for the advancement and preservation of music composition.
PPYC major events during the year are the nationally-recognized Pikes Peak Young Composers Competition (annual deadline April 1st)with a free public concert of compositions from the competition in June; and the PPYC Summer Workshops in July which provide opportunites for young musicians to learn composition from an expert faculty on the Campus at College College in Colorado Springs. A Summer Workshop Concert concludes the Summer Workshop.
