Description: Dyslexia is one of the most common learning differences. In the workplace, even though it is widespread, it is often well hidden. Dyslexic people go underground at work, rather than seeking accommodation or understanding. Dyslexia is even more prevalent in the arts. People with dyslexia may become artists and designers because of their enhanced visual/spacial strengths. Though it may enhance our creativity, it can make our communication, marketing, reading, and writing more difficult. Dyslexic people often become entrepreneurs because the traditional workplace is an uncomfortable fit.

Cindy Kalman offers to her audience years of experience as an entrepreneur, graphic designer, and presentation specialist. Her work ranges from graphic design for a national news show, to creating presentations, illustrations, and marketing collateral for scientists, entrepreneurs, and corporations. In this presentation, she will share her own experience and inspiration working around the obstacles of dyslexia. We will also discuss tools and apps that make writing and reading faster and easier.
