Boom Days is always the first weekend in August. Festival events span three days of fun, food, and recreational activities for the whole family. There are historic contests of individual mining skill, Annual Gun Show of the Leadville Rod & Gun Club, the Motorcycle Rodeo, the popular Boom Days Parade, and our world-famous 21 mile International Pack Burro Race. There are tons of things to see and do, including children's events and a huge variety of supporting events, such as our big street fair, a parade, street-side entertainment, costume contests, including the "Mosey" contest, and much more!
