"Sultry and dramatic acoustic-based rock." - Tim Van Schmidt
Martin Poole - drums and vocals Lloyd Drust - lead guitar Brent Hauseman - bass Michelle Roderick - guitar and vocals
Loveland singer/songwriter Michelle Roderick brings a wealth of imagery to her original songs. Her music runs the gamut from country waltz and blues to acoustic ballads and rock, exploring the personal side of life's experiences. Drawing from influences like Melissa Etheridge, Lucinda Williams and Neil Young, Michelle has been favorably compared to both Margo Timmins (of Cowboy Junkies) and Bonnie Raitt while maintaining a distinctive style.
Building on Michelle's acoustic guitar, the MRB has developed a tight, driving style that supports both polished arrangements and free-form jams. Lead guitarist Lloyd Drust, a renowned artist in his own right, sends his modified Gretsch soaring through electric solos that alternately caress and contort the melody. Martin Poole, a veteran of several local groups, lends an intriguing harmony to the vocals while nailing down the beat on his custom trap kit. Completing the sound with a solid bottom line is Brent Hauseman on fretted acoustic bass.
As a unit, the MRB has begun building a fan base with their live performances, playing over a dozen gigs during their first year together at various venues including Old Town Square in Ft. Collins and the Rialto Theater in Loveland.
