In addition to solo performances, she is the artistic director for the Swallow Hill Traveling Troupe - an integral part of Swallow Hill’s outreach program to schools and communities. Julie is also a member of the world music band Safe Harbor.

Of her concerts The Denver Post once wrote: “She has a warmth on stage that is unusual. Her voice is deeply personal and resonant, and hers is a unique weave of songs, stories and instruments that keeps the entertainment intriguing to the end.” She has released three recordings: Heart Full of Song, Traveling Light, and Journey to the Fluted Mountain.

Julie teaches group classes and workshops on singing, storytelling, ensembles, performing, guitar, autoharp, and wooden flute. Julie combines focused work on skills with an enjoyable and encouraging learning atmosphere.
